Market Update - A Local Perspective

New Castle County, DE

New Castle County  experienced a 6.6% increase in the number of sold homes for the year 2016 compared to 2015 and 1.1% increase in the median price of sold homes from $217,500 to $220,000. The number of homes that went under contract in 2016 increased 4.4% from 2015.

Kent County, DE

For the year 2016, Kent County experienced a 6.6% increase in the number of sold homes compared to 2015 and a 4.2% increase in the median sales price from $190,560 to $198,500. The number of homes that went under contract 2016 increased 9.2% from 2015.

Sussex County, DE

For the year 2016, Sussex County experienced a 4.7% increase in the number of sold homes compared to 2015 and a 2.2% increase in the median sales price from $248,138 to $253,590. The number of homes that went under contract in 2016 increased 7.9% from 2015.

Southern Chester County, PA

Southern Chester County  experienced a 7.1% decrease in the number of sold homes in 2016 compared to 2015 and there was a 2.8% decrease in the median sales price from $349,900 to $340,000. The number of homes that went under contract in the year 2016 decreased 9.0% from 2015.

Cecil County, MD

For the year 2016, Cecil County experienced a 13.7% increase in the number of sold homes compared to 2015 and an increase in the median sales price of 0.4%; from $199,000 to $199,750. The number of homes that went under contract in 2016 increased 8.1% from 2015.
