Market Update - A Local Perspective

New Castle County, DE

New Castle County  experienced a 0.5% increase in the number of sold homes for the first two months of 2017 compared to 2016 and a 2.4% decrease in the median price of sold homes, from $210,000 to $205,000. The number of homes that went under contract in the first 2 months of 2017 increased 15.7% from 2016.

Kent County, DE

For the first 2 months of 2017, Kent County experienced a 28.4% increase in the number of sold homes compared to 2016 and a 0.2% decrease in the median sales price from $193,000 to $192,700. The number of homes that went under contract in the first two months of 2017 increased 26.7% from 2016.

Sussex County, DE

For the first two months of 2017, Sussex County experienced an 18.3% increase in the number of sold homes compared to 2016 and a 3.2% increase in the median sales price from $237,500 to $245,000. The number of homes that went under contract in the first 2 months of 2017 increased 35.5% from 2016.

Southern Chester County, PA

Southern Chester County  experienced a 10.2% decrease in the number of sold homes in the first 2 months of 2017 compared to 2016 and an 1.1% decrease in the median price of sold homes, from $328,362 to $324,604. The number of homes that went under contract in the first two months of 2017 increased 19.1% from 2016.

Cecil County, MD

For the first two months of 2017, Cecil County experienced an 9.6% decrease in the number of sold homes compared to 2016 and an increase in the median sales price of 12.6%; from $178,500 to $201,000. The number of homes that went under contract in the first two months of 2017 increased 3.3% from 2016.
