Market Update - A Local Perspective

New Castle County, DE

New Castle County  experienced an 9.7% increase in the number of sold homes for the year 2017 compared to 2016 and a 0.4% decrease in the median sales price from $220,000 to $219,198. The number of homes that went under contract in 2017 increased 10.7% from 2016.

Kent County, DE

For the year 2017, Kent County experienced a 16.4% increase in the number of sold homes compared to 2016 and a 0.9% increase in the median sales price from $198,250 to $199,982. The number of homes that went under contract in 2017 increased 15.6% from 2016.

Sussex County, DE

For the year 2017, Sussex County experienced a 15.1% increase in the number of sold homes compared to 2016 and a 4.0% increase in the median sales price from $254,900 to $265,000. The number of homes that went under contract in 2017 increased 16.8% from 2016.

Southern Chester County, PA

Southern Chester County  experienced a 0.2% decrease in the number of sold homes in 2017 compared to 2016 and a 6.3% increase in the median price of sold homes, from $340,411 to $361,750. The number of homes that went under contract in 2017 increased 1.7% from 2016.

Cecil County, MD

For the year 2017, Cecil County experienced a 4.2% increase in the number of sold homes compared to 2016 and an increase in the median sales price of 9.1%; from $199,900 to $218,000. The number of homes that went under contract in 2017 increased 7.7% from 2016.
